Boot single-user, run prelink -u /lib64/libc-2.3.4.so, then update to
today's glibc and you should be all set.  There's a bug in
glibc-2.3.4-7 that breaks prelinked start-up badly on amd64.  2.3.4-10
seems to be fine.
