Yes, of course.  Cockpit will do the right thing even with the full
appstream-data package.  This is only about not having 15 MiB of
useless
data installed.
Just check how much data you download for repository metadata.. 😉

15MiB can be important if you want to have a cockpit container (in which you won't store repo metadata too).

And I still hope Fedora repository metadata madness (which has become even worse as tools evolved!) will be fixed/improved one day...
