Hi folks! Just wanted to send out a roll-up mail with some specific requests for testing related to the Fedora 26 release. 1. There's a new qemu build which should fix the proposed blocker #1467599 . It would be great if anyone who runs F26 and uses virt- manager, Boxes or qemu in any other way could update to it and check that it works OK: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2017-db0ad12bde We don't just need testing from folks who were affected by the bug, but by anyone who uses qemu, to ensure the change doesn't cause any other problems. 2. There's another proposed blocker: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2017-db0ad12bde It seems pretty clear that playing video in Totem in common libvirt VM configurations fails, but we could do with more information here. It'd be useful to know if it affects anyone who's using a system with a graphics card that has no native driver support, for instance; it'd also be good to know if it affects other virtualization systems (particularly VirtualBox and VMware), and experiment with different qemu VM configurations (e.g. different video drivers, and SPICE vs. VNC). 3. Finally, it'd be great if folks can help out with validation testing, to get as much coverage as possible. See the RC-1.4 announcement mail for all the details: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/test-announce@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/message/IAMLIKWY7J5L7VKPW3637VML223WBJM5/ Particularly note that you can use https://www.happyassassin.net/testcase_stats/26/ to see what tests most need running. Note that an RC-1.5 compose is currently running; this is a 'provisional' compose whose only change compared to RC-1.4 is that it includes the qemu update mentioned in item #1. The idea is to give us more options in the go/no-go decision. We should not need to re-run most tests on RC-1.5 that were run on RC-1.4, only the virt-related tests and some smoke tests to make sure nothing unexpected happened in the compose process.
