This is a bit pressing right now because webkitgtk4 is currently failing
to rebuild and that is causing broken deps for Workstation and leading
to the QA nightly tests not working and so on.

I also imagine there are a bunch of third party packages that are still
linking with old libwebp soname and would benefit if we kept the ABI
compatibility as well.

Would you have time to review a compat package and help maintain it if I
put one together?

compat-libwebp05 package I put together just now.

I see the review is already taken care of. Happy to help maintaining if required.
