Those are really "developer only" things and I agree users shouldn't even need to see those. dnssec-trigger continiously keeps probing while in hotspot mode to check when the "jailing" has been removed and real internet access is available.
I hope we can get a design for this which integrates better with GNOME Shell and the existing network icon there.
