ATM, neither is the technical infrastructure is in place (it is evolving) nor are impact/consequences clear not are the prototypical use-cases of soft/weak-deps clear.

@Thorsten: I do not think, weak/soft-deps are of use in your case. Unfortunatley, I do not have solution, either.
