Maybe "multimedia"? The "media" word got so overloaded when CD-ROMs
started getting mounted in /media/cdrom etc...

Doesn't that sound like a complete and utter disaster? Permissions
changing willy-nilly depending on what you happen to install? And what
if the administrator actually wants to do something site-specific there
- I think that having local configuration in the console.perms seems
somewhat sane, doesn't it?

Absolutely. Think e.g. PVR applications - well, I guess that's pretty
much what your cron job is at the moment in some sense! ;) OK, so there
aren't any PVRs included in Fedora Core, but it would be som much easier
to get this done right if the core includes the potential to do it and
it's _very_ hard to do it in a non-hacky way without universal buy-in.

I don't think I understand Bill's comment in the bugzilla report about
the problems with the group solution - why could a new group not be
added on a distro upgrade?
