Yeah. I'm pretty sure there at least _used_ to be something similar in GNOME 3 which IIRC was an interface to /org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/updates As an aside. On my Dad's Fedora 20 machine the GUI package manager never finds any updates (unless you've just run yum previously IIRC). Anyway I've got him used to just running yum, guess I'll have to get him used to running dnf at some point...
