Hi List,

I've been facing a multilib protection failure in yum update. When I
tried to clean /var/run/cache/yum/* as well passing
setopt=protected_multilib=false as parameter in yum update, but none of
them actually resolved the issue. After turning off protected_multilib,
I am getting the following error:

I think your posting is off-topic for this list. users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx would have been the correct one.

Wrt. your issue: AFAIC, you seem to have mixed epel7 with fedora. This is not supposed to work, which means your system likely is quite messed up.

You can try to disable all epel-repos and cleanup your installation, using "yum distro-sync", "package-cleanup --orphans" and the like, aiming at removing all epel packages and to sync with fedora.
