Boycotting systemd seems like a waste of resources. The various legacy init systems have significant problems and staying with them forever isn't going to happen. If there is a large set of people that don't like the direction systemd is going, they should either be constructively participating in the systemd development process or trying to develop another alternative that fixes the problems with legcay init systems while moving in a direction they do want, if they want to accomplish something. I don't expect anything useful to come out of a boycott.
