I think there are much more important things to be concerned about than:
1. Childproofing software.
2. Writing software to protect against software bugs.
DNF already requires that you have root privileges, in addition to requiring you to answer Yes to apply changes. Those safeguards are more than sufficient. Additional requirements above and beyond that are redundant and actually become a nuisance for those who RTFM.
As far as the bug issue, that is an ad hominem justification.
The owner of DNF has appropriately rejected this... move on.

As previously noted, the yum functionality was originally a plugin but then
adopted as core feature.Yes, I filed it but it was pretty quickly rejected. I am wondering if there is openness to implementing this atleast as a plugin or will the decision be reconsidered if enough "votes" aka cc can be garnered?
