 For recent yum it's significantly better to do:

yum fs filter nodocs

 Dito. to get rid of extra languages by:

yum fs filter langs en

...then you can yum fs refilter / yum fs refilter-cleanup.

On Fedora 21, any way to apply these before installing to SDD from live usb image? e.g. open terminal, run fs filter's, then start the install?
