Theoretically, yes. If OpenJDK 7 supports an architecture, OpenJDK 8 should support it about as well (if not better). We may need tweaks and patches to make sure OpenJDK 8 builds correctly everywhere, but that's one of the things we can fix in rawhide in the coming weeks. If you can get me access to machines, I can try building OpenJDK 8 there myself.
