Sigh.  Spoke too soon. Hang resurfaced. See:

It still worth the update, IMHO. The 2.20.16 is just way better than the 2.20.10.

As the gdm crash is still there, despite the 2.20.16 being the latest release, it might make sense to report the bug (with all the relevant information) directly on https://bugs.freedesktop.org/
