Hi everyone,

my name is Jos de Kloe, I am working for the Dutch Met. Office (KNMI) as a scientist and doing a lot of programming work, mainly in python and fortran.

For this reason I am interested in adding some python modules to Fedora that can handle some fileformats commonly used in meteorology, and I would like to volunteer to maintain them.

The main fileformats I am interested in are grib, bufr and netcdf.
To start I created spec files to build the pygrib module and its dependency pyproj, see these links:

pygrib:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=806037

pyproj:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=806040

I am looking for a sponsor who would be willing to guide me in getting this software included in Fedora.

Best regards,

Jos.
