postgresql Unix-domain sockets moving

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Just a heads up:

As of postgresql-9.1.4-5 in F17 and later, the postgresql server will
create a Unix socket in /var/run/postgresql, as well as in the
traditional location of /tmp. /var/run/postgresql is also now the
default location where libpq will try to contact the server for a local
connection. This change should fix problems with daemons being unable
to talk to the database if they run under PrivateTmp (bug #825448).
For everybody else, it should be transparent in theory ... but you
all know the difference between theory and practice. Let me know if
you hit a problem.
