One never hits that scenario, because: a) gnome-terminal runs just fine without dbus (unset DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS and run with --disable-factory to verify) b) when dbus crashes, so does gnome-session, so there's really no question of launching another terminal - ajax
