Heads-up: Audacious upgrades for Rawhide and Fedora 15

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Rawhide:

With upstream having released Audacious 3.0-alpha1 (full GTK 3 support),
I'd like Rawhide to move to that one early this devel cycle. This is also
because a couple of unmaintained plugins have been dropped, and it's
better to sync such a change prior to a new dist release than having
to drop them much later:

Fedora 15:

The current stable release series is 2.5.x with 2.4.x having been declared
legacy. To benefit from improvements and additional bug-fixes in 2.5.x,
Fedora 15 will get Test Updates for 2.5.1 approximately this weekend.
This will require a koji buildroot override for libmowgli and includes
a Generic Plugin ABI/API bump, which will require plug-in packages to
be upgraded as well. Everything needed for 2.5.1 is in Rawhide, so F-15
will merge from Rawhide, and Rawhide then can move to 3.0-alpha1.
I will prepare the test updates. If there are any concerns, shout.

(!)

Both upgrades will affect RPM package dependencies, meaning you won't be
able to update to the new builds as long as any of your installed plug-in
packages have not been updated appropriately. This will protect you from
breaking your installed packages. Third party plug-in packages will be
affected, too, especially in Fedora 15, so please be patient.
