Or, pass nomodeset to the kernel...

I've got ATI and had the same issue.  Used basic video driver.

However, had a crash trying to manual assign partitions to install f14.  The was a very long backtrace, but it wasn't possible to save the out anywhere, and bugzilla didn't authenticate (probably a proxy issue).

I'll try again at home, but so far no luck installing.
