Wow, so you already had the patch author and yourself (so 2 people in total) 
who successfully tested the fix. That's the point at which I'd have queued 
the update directly for stable (also considering the very small, localized 
patch and the fact it appears to be a critical bugfix). Yet you queued it 
for testing instead and asked for more feedback, got 2 additional positive 
karma (making it 4 successful tests) right away, and still let the update 
proceed to testing and waited a full week before queueing it to stable? IMHO 
that's way too conservative.
