For saving options, you can now set the printer defaults at CUPS level, Qt will pick them up now (we fixed that in our KDE 4.4 update set). That said, I'm not sure Okular supports all of them due to the FilePrinter hack it's using. But this is kinda OT for this list and we have strayed far far away from the original subject of this thread.
