It would be nice if libtool were also updated to not explicitly link all
dependent libraries transitively. rpmlint complains about these as
"unused-direct-shlib-dependency" warnings.

While these DSO changes will be good for reducing the brittleness for
applications, without the libtool changes there will not as much benefit
for libraries.
