2.6.6-1.422 seems to have fixed my USB CD-RW. Previously I had to manually run "cdrecord dev=/dev/scd0" and ignore the warning messages telling me I was an idiot.
we really need to fix that warning message; using /dev/scd0 IS the right way (assuming it works of course, and if it doesn't we need to fix it)
hmm, but I think, we cannot get that upstream :-/
