If things outside of NM aren't going to work right or are going to break other stuff, get rid of them. The only reason not to is "what if NM is broken," which is a moot point since offering a broken interface to use as a backup in case another interface is broken makes no sense. Stick with the one we're interested in supporting and deal with that set of bugs. I will send you a check for $5 if you configure your mailer to do line breaks properly.
