Slight correction.  That is what you get by default on x86_64.  Not
i[3456]86 (obviously) or ppc (which is less obvious given that ppc is used
on ppc64 machines).

This point has nothing to do with what you were actually saying though.  So
feel free to ignore it as a clarification, not a rebuttal.
