One, it's often not the _right_ fix - there are cases where PA's interaction with ALSA reveals bugs in ALSA that otherwise stay hidden. So disabling PA 'fixes the bug', but in reality is just sweeping it under the carpet. Two, even when the bug is in PA, if everyone just goes around disabling PA, how are they going to get fixed?
