No, period - I haven't seen anyone in the community say that they're
testing it on i586-class hardware.

Then you likely haven't paid attention.

I repeatedly filed BZ'd i586 specific issues and mentioned i586 issues on several fedora lists (e.g. SELinux causing kernel OOMs on i586's).
