Hello,
Normally I'm quite happy to wait for new releases upstream to trickle into fedora, however in this case, I'd LOVE to know if 3.1 fixes an issue with OO over samba.

Without details of the problem its hard to say, though 3.1 does have an
alternative file locking implementation grafted on, so if the problem
was file-locking related, 3.1 might fix your problem. Though it does
matter of course how you're working over samba, whether mounted as a
filesystem or through gio/gvfs. i.e. it might even be nothing to do
really with OOo, but something else in the stack and it won't matter
what version of OOo is used.

mounted via an entry in fstab, not gio/gvfs... Files opened over the network are opened read-only no matter what mount options I give. Currently these are what we have...

cifs	rw,username=guest,noperm,noacl,defaults,pass=''

So are there plans to update f10 OpenOffice to 3.1?

No, no such plans.

Ok, thanks for the info.
