Not really sure about this winning threads business but, speaking only for myself, I chose to ignore it in part because the thread clearly jumped the shark when you replied to your own message at least twice. And the rest of us likely already know about pavucontrol. Lennart wrote it and we designed the new volume control to replace it (for our target users). The fact that it is still currently in the menus is almost certainly an oversight - not a confirmation that what you are proposing is a good idea. But frankly, at this point you're out-emailing the rest of us and we're not going to be able to compete on these terms.
