I looked at them while struggling with https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=473825... they didn't work (probably because the actual problem in said bug was not, in fact, a bad grab, but something a little stranger). In the process of investigating them, I learned they had (reportedly) been removed in current X.org.
