So at one point it was dropped because "deprecated", now it's back in, but in 2.6.5-1.327 at least it seems to be broken...
The module loads without complaining, but it doesn't seem to do anything; no message in 'dmesg', trying to access it gives "Error trying to open /dev/sg0 exclusively (No such device or address)." That error was from "grip", "cdrecord -scanbus" also doesn't find anything.
