AFAIK it's intentional. We worked on archiving features in Nautilus, so
that it can replace File Roller.
Do the work on Nautilus includes something better than extract
everything on open?
Asking to know if I should prepare to remove my current network
configuration to disable extraction on open on all machines. That thing
is the reason so many network shares get clogged with files everyone
forget to remove.
