Since this autodetection has been put in place, I have had to manually
set my Mode every Fedora install. It has never guessed correctly on
any machine I have installed it on. I don't complain about it since I
can only assume it works well for someone out there. But it doesn't
work "just well"

ok let me correct myself : "it works well aslong as your display does not return crap (dcc/edid info)"
