[Fedora-config-list] New recruit reporting for duty

Hello to all. I installed my first Linux distro in Feb. of this year. 
And since then I was hooked. (I never really liked Windows). So, now 
that RedHat has left this project, Fedora, solely to the community, I 
would like to aid the fight.

So far my programming/development experineces lie with:
Pascal/Delphi
HTML
Actionscript
Javascript
PHP
Bash scripts

I'm interested in build a firewall (Iptables) configuration tool. Esp. 
after my logn fight to get my own understanding of Iptables to a point 
to setup my own script.

I've come to understand that GTK+ for the GUI is the way to go. What 
else need I know, learn, etc?

PS: I own a C++ book, but I got a M$ compiler for it. Maybe that's why i 
never really used it.
