Hey Kyle, sorry for the slow response. I think my question was a little confusing, since there's mostly three ways to contribute to badges: design, sysadmin, and/or development.

    I would say the mailing list and IRC are the best ways for you to stay
    involved with the Badges effort. :) You were interested in the design
    aspect of Badges, right?
