I like where are you going with this.
Maybe make the flame look more like a flame and not like a blue cloud? Even if it not so realistic (considering the photo from wikimedia commons), it may be better distinguishable.

Had another idea to make the flames a bigger part of the concept, hopefully i'll get a chance to sketch that tommorrow.

And a drop of red molten sulfur? (but a small one)
