Let's try that one again :-) On 17/10/06, Luya Tshimbalanga <luya_tfz@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:

I was thinking to gather desktop environments artists (including Enlightement) so they can tune the theme for their favorite DE (KDE, xfce, well all DE available in Extras repository).
I think the early part of the development cycle could be bugfixing or something of the sort, especially in the KDE case here, to get things started. I don't know how many FC users on this list are of the K persuasion but it might help if after each name on the contributors page would be their choice of desktop in brackets. This could, as Luya suggested, form a mini group with users that can look at KDE issues rather than concentrating on GNOME ones. I'm one of them, btw. Things like the KDE Bluecurve colour scheme bug in redhat-artwork, for example, ( http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=115836 ) could be sorted quite quickly, it took me around an hour to simply select the colours from GNOME and convert them into the KDE ones, albeit a little adjustment was needed but the overall effect was there. I feel it's little things that need to make KDE match up with GNOME that will make it become closer to seamless consistancy. If other KDE users will agree, we should set up a wiki page which can act as a buglist for these things along with new ideas - a sort of K-ToDo list. If anyone uses other desktops that come with Fedora (I don't know of them) then it would make it easier to follow. On 17/10/06, Nicu Buculei <nicu_fedora@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:

AFAIK, FC7 has the target to "unleash KDE" (http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/UnleashKDE) so maybe we need some input from those people. Sorry, I don't know anything else about KDE.
As for "Unleash KDE", I understand to be a early-stage organisation project where KDE and it's packages will be moved into Extras. This will allow developers and packagers etc. to bring the general quality of both to a higher level as it will have it's own base to work with. It seems a little behind-the-scenes for strict artists to deal with but if, of course, anyone wants to help I'm sure the appropriate people wouldn't say no! _______________________________________________ Fedora-art-list mailing list Fedora-art-list@xxxxxxxxxx http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-art-list
