FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE For the fourth day in a row, FAA air traffic controllers yesterday managed more flights in and out of O’Hare than at any other airport in the country. The number of flights that arrived and departed at O’Hare was above 98 percent of the two-month average for a Wednesday, and the number of flights at Midway was more than 88 percent of the two-month average. Today’s traffic at O’Hare was running above 103 percent of the two-month average and flights at Midway were above 89 percent of the two-month average. FAA test flight pilots based in Oklahoma City, OK flew an aircraft through the Chicago En Route Center’s airspace today to help air traffic controllers test more than 100 radio frequencies they use to communicate with pilots. FAA technical teams also today restored the last of the 835 telecommunications circuits at the center and are continuing end-to-end testing. ### |
