FAA Statement-Update on Chicago Air Traffic Facility

FAA air traffic controllers managed more flights in and out of O'Hare yesterday than at any other airport in the country. The number of arrivals and departures at O'Hare and Midway was more than 93 percent of the two-month average for a Friday. By 12 noon CDT today, the number of flights at the two airports was running above 85 percent of the two-month average for a Saturday.

FAA technical teams reported continued successful testing of undamaged equipment at the Chicago En Route Center in Aurora, IL and additional progress installing cable and other systems.
