Backlight should maybe use devm_backlight_device_register() as part of using more infrastructure, so clean-up is automatic. Also the implementation of the enable/disable callbacks looks like most of the implementation belongs in prepare/unprepare callbacks. And enable() could be as trivial as: backlight_update_status(acx565akm_panel->backlight); My feedback to this patch would be: "This is how it was in the original driver so we can fix it in a follow-up patch. Follow-up patch needs HW to test the changes."
