It seems like the issue has been recently fixed.

I can't reproduce it with the following config:

OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on AMD POLARIS10 (DRM 3.3.0 /
4.8.13-1-ARCH, LLVM 4.0.0)
OpenGL core profile version string: 4.5 (Core Profile) Mesa 13.1.0-devel
(git-7e2a4d5770)

But I can see the hexagonal shapes with:

OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on AMD POLARIS10 (DRM 3.3.0 /
4.8.13-1-ARCH, LLVM 3.9.0)
OpenGL core profile version string: 4.3 (Core Profile) Mesa 13.0.2

Tested on RX 480.

Can you try upgrading and eventually confirm?
