Don't know why, it's surely right. which partition do you have encrypted? only data, or the root partition of your ubuntu system? have you tried to boot a rescue system and manually unlock the encrypted device? please paste the exact output of 'cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/<device> <name>'. see /etc/crypttab for required options and the cryptsetup manpage for documentation. greetings, jonas
