I tried noatime, and I continue to use it now, but it didn't make any
noticeable difference, unlike the migration to ext4. I was hesitant
about using the writeback option and didn't try it. The Fedora laptop
has 56 Gb of free space, and the Ubuntu one has at least that
much. Since I first installed Fedora 9, it was upgraded to 10, 11, and
then to 12.
