Possibility of hash function besides SHA-1 in future LUKS revisions?

Hi, I was just wondering if there would ever be an option to use a hash function
other than SHA-1 for a LUKS device. NIST has deprecated SHA-1 since I
personally would like to be able to use Whirlpool or the SHA-2 variants, and I
am sure there are others who would appreciate being able to choose the hash
function.

Thank you for your time,
Alex Elsayed
