Or maybe I wrote something wrong. But I just cannot see any contradictions (except that I first wanted to convert partiton and after talk just to correctly configure cryptsetup-luks). I have WORKING old-style cryptsetup with encrypted patition. I really don't understand why you asked about the key. First you asked how initial setup looked like. I posted: KEY=`tr -cd [:graph:] < /dev/urandom | head -c 79` echo $KEY | cryptsetup -h sha256 create wra /dev/sda6 THIS IS initial setup. You really didn't ask about key storage. I saved the key to file AFTER initial setup. Where is "first you say this, then you say that"? P.S.: I hope we both understand "initial setup" as the procedure what is done only "once for life" - at the very begining. -- S pozdravom *White Raven* Jabber: wra@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ICQ: 134422337 SIP: 065940840@xxxxxxxxx http://www.visitors.sk/ RSS - http://www.visitors.sk/rss.xml --------------------------------------------------------------------- - http://www.saout.de/misc/dm-crypt/ To unsubscribe, e-mail: dm-crypt-unsubscribe@xxxxxxxx For additional commands, e-mail: dm-crypt-help@xxxxxxxx
