How long does it take? How much RAM do > you have? i've 512MB of RAM, and the file had 1GB Swap. The system didn't respond after 10 to 30 seconds. It's not a conventional crash, but more a freeze. X freezes completely if you run the script in a X terminal. If you run it on a virtual console, the console doesn't respond while keyboard action (typing) is still printed on the screen.
