Isn't it single bit at this point, so __ffs() is not needed?

I'd use {}, but probably up to you.

Can this and similar names have some '_'? Maybe the name gets too long. I know
how difficult naming can be. :-)

Nit. I'd remove this empty line, but up to you.

Not sure if these single line wrappers are needed. Inlining would be simpler.

Even these wrappers. The if check for enable can be removed when these are
inlined, hence less operations.

This would prevent multiple instances. Can it be part of xsdirxss_state?

But I wonder why this previous setting and also being fractional fps
really matter. Instead, this always has to set to the required rate.

This is related to how frame intervals are defined in xsdirxss_get_framerate(),
correct? Maybe some comments on both sides would be helpful, saying numerator
== 1001 is treated as fractional fps?

This is not needed.

Not needed.

If this puts the controller in non-functional state, better to be an error,
and stop.

Shouldn't this rate be checked as set_rate() doesn't guarantee the requested
rate?

This seems like a little too much nested switch - case and if statements in
single function. Do you think this can be cleaned up using some table,
ex using XSDIRX_MODE_*, XSDIRX_TS_DET_STAT_RATE_*, adjusted XST352_BYTE1_*,,,
as indexes to it? Or with separate functions Or is it overkill? I let you
decide though.

But, the bpp and bpc are quite different. Shouldn't it be bpc?

I guess it doesn't matter, but this can be assigned directly to be clearer, not

I believe the core has to be disabled first.

But to be safer side, maybe all these can be done first? Similar for enable,
so enabling all after v4l/media registrations?

Since this is many definitions for a single subdev, do you think some of these
can be minimized? For example, if the action for underflow/overflow isn't
different, resetting the device, then these can fold into one event.

Could you double-check some below too? Unless each is associated with different
handling, it'd be good to minimize the user interface, ex by merging or even
removing.
