It maybe simpler to read as:

	my $vendor_path = $dt_path . "vendor-prefixes.txt";
	`grep -Eq $vendor $vendor_path`;

Also I suggest using the same message type
instead of 2 distinct ones.

Maybe "UNDOCUMENTED_DT_STRING"
