-- Release Process Improvement --
In an effort to improve release stability, we will be slightly changing our release process.

Historically, once QA was done testing, we would install the RC on our internal lab cluster(s) and monitor it for a few days. If no major issues were discovered, we'd build and announce a release.

Now, we will be announcing that build as a Release Candidate. For those users with spare or dev clusters, we encourage you to install these Release Candidates, monitor for a few days, then report your findings via a brief survey that will be provided in the RC Announcement e-mail.

-- 17.2.1 Quincy Update --
Our internal lab clusters are running the 17.2.1 RC and observed a couple OSD crashes. These are tracked in https://tracker.ceph.com/issues/56101 and https://tracker.ceph.com/issues/56102

We do not believe these are regressions but are investigating more in-depth to be certain before officially releasing. We're anticipating tomorrow as release day.

-- Final Octopus Release --
A lot of Octopus PRs are missing the needs-qa label. If you need these PRs in the release, please mark them appropriately.
