Hello,

This week's meeting was focused on getting Quincy out the door:

- CephFS blocker (mount helper backwards compatibility)
  - should be ready for merge but hit unrelated issues with the
    "testing" kernel
  - re-running tests with the "distro" kernel, they appear to be
    passing
  - the "testing" kernel config issue wrt --pids-limit is resolved

- Dashboard blocker (grafana version/container registry woes)
  - merged, quincy backport along with additional dependencies is being
    tested

- avl allocator large writes performance regression (Mark)
  - bisected to https://github.com/ceph/ceph/pull/41615
  - not clear whether this degradation is specific to these particular
drives yet, but this model is relatively common and this is one of
the standard "go to" drives for ceph
  - approach 1: revert to bitmap allocator
    - would hurt small random writes
  - approach 2: revert avl allocator improvements
    - https://github.com/ceph/ceph/pull/45755
    - would reintroduce issues that Igor was seeing
  - approach 3: limit the time spent in near-fit mode
    - https://github.com/ceph/ceph/pull/45771
  - decision: continue benchmarking, delay the release

- community calendar is populated with upcoming CDS schedule
  - https://pad.ceph.com/p/cds-reef

- ceph organization on github is being pruned (stale members,
  rules/permissions, etc)

Thanks,

                Ilya
